Receded gums: causes, symptoms and treatment

Gingival recession, often known as receding gums, is a common issue in which the gums recede from the teeth. This exposes tooth roots, which can then lead to sensitivity and an insecure smile. Causes of receding gums

Symptoms of receding gums

Prevention is better than cure.

It is always better to prevent problems than to treat them. Some tips to prevent receding gums are:

·         Keep your mouth healthy: You should floss daily and wash your teeth twice a day to maintain good oral health. Toothpicks may be a good alternative;

·         Use a soft toothbrush: Use a soft toothbrush and brush gently in a circular motion. You can also use an electric toothbrush. A tip is to buy an electric toothbrush with a pressure sensor.
